| Soundbites from
Sara Ferguson, a Pennsylvania teacher who was in attendance and
recognized by President Obama at last night’s State of the Union
Address for her commitment to public education.
A literacy and math teacher at Columbus Elementary in
Pennsylvania’s Chester Upland School District, Ferguson and her
fellow Chester Upland school district teachers and staff were told
in early January that there wouldn’t be enough money
to pay them because the district was running out of state funding.
To keep the promise of public education to students, the educators
agreed to work temporarily without pay.
The mp3 file includes five separate bites, descriptions to the
right.
